Simon James is an English artist who lives and works in Munich since 2001. He has developed a process of working which combines both painting and sculpture. Applying coloured Gesso, (previously used by atists as a material for preparing the 'Ground') in a series of layers, he then reduces the surface by scraping and sanding. [more]
