This workshop will offer a series of lectures on the theoretical background of statistical genomics – with a focus on polygenic risk scores (PRS) and related constructs. Students will also present and discuss recent PRS papers.
- PRS – a historical perspective
- Early approaches of PRS
- Recent PRS approaches
- The concept of risk scores in other omics datasets
This course provides an overview of basic statistical concepts used to construct of PRS. After this course, you should be able to critically evaluate published PRS papers and have a main idea of which steps are important to conduct a PRS calculation yourself.
