Friedrich Naumann Foundation
The FNS doctoral funding is intended for highly talented students from abroad. The scholarship is awarded independent of parental income. The subject of the doctoral thesis should be of relevance for science and society issues. Every year about 15-25 scholarships for students are awarded. They are initially granted for one year and can be extended for a second year, if applied for. Funding beyond the third year is not possible.
International scholars receive up to EUR 900 each month plus a contribution to health insurance. There are additional benefits for both groups. One of the sponsorship priorities is, however, non-material support: the FNS offers a wide range of projects, events and initiatives for scholarship holders.
