Welcome to the website of the International Max Planck Research School for Translational Psychiatry (IMPRS-TP).

The IMPRS-TP PhD program provides first class training to internationally outstanding students who are passionate about molecular, cellular and systemic neuroscientific and psychiatric research.

Research areas covered within the Program are molecular medicine, neuroscience, psychiatry, quantitative epigenetics and imaging, neuroimaging, design-based stereology and clinical studies.

In addition to traditional PhD positions, we offer a unique integrated PhD/residence program in psychiatry to exceptional medical doctors. 

About

IMPRS-TP is a joint initiative of leading scientists from the Max Planck Institutes of Psychiatry and of Biological Intelligence and the Ludwig Maximillians University, Munich (LMU).

Further collaborations have been established with the Munich Medical Research School (MMRS), the Helmholtz Center Munich, the Graduate School of Systemic Neurosciences (GSN), Martinsried, Germany, the TUM School of Medicine, the University of Augsburg and King’s College London, UK.
