Main Focus
My current major research lines are
• neuropathology of neuropsychiatric diseases (Schizophrenia, Autism, etc.),
• prenatal programming of neuropsychiatric diseases, with special emphasis on the functionally relevant microarchitecture of the human placenta (in close collaboration with Prof. Hans-Georg Frank in my department), and
• development of novel tools for quantitative histologic investigation of the brain (such as design-based stereology and automated 3D cell detection).
Another major research line with no relevance to this project is the application of extracorporeal shock waves to the musculoskeletal system in physical medicine, rehabilitation and high-end sports medicine.
